Was it me or did this month flew by!?! Since school started back in August, we haven’t been doing too much and just really focusing on the girls getting back into the grove of everything with school. But, there were some little adventures that we did this month…
At the beginning of the month, my husband and I decided to take on a 4 goal challenge for the month of September from here on out and wanted to start slowly cutting things out. Part of that goal was to cut out sugar. No more cookies, no more sweets, no more soda, etc. For the first 2 weeks of course the sugar cravings kicked in and the temptations were really bad, especially during the first week.
Then on September 12th my husband and I then started doing the Ketogenic diet. I know what you are probably thinking.. man you just went from completely cutting out sugar and then 2 weeks later cutting carbs out too! YUP, and we haven’t regretted it since. When we hit out 1 month of our keto lifestyle, I will definitely do another post explaining more in depth of how we decided to start this lifestyle, what we have been eating, talking about what Keto is, and how much weight we’ve lost.
Labor Day- Spring Mountain Ranch State Park
If you’re in Vegas and looking for a place to relax and have a true picnic at the park, this state park is the place to go. No playgrounds, just good ol grass…. oh and Penelope the cow! FYI- there is an entrance fee to get in due to it being a state park, so check online before you go.
Mommy/Daughters Date
One of my favorite things to do! So, my husband worked for almost 3 weeks straight with NO days off and since the girls had no school he told us “heres my card, you guys do whatever you guys want and just don’t come back until later after, so I can get as much sleep as I can” hahahaha OK!! You don’t have to tell me twice!
The first thing we did was have lunch at a new pizza place that just opened up recently, Giordano’s. This place has AH-MAZ-ING pizza! So delicious. I love how they provide FREE pizza dough to all the kids (FUNNN).
Since my kiddos are pasta lovers, they passed on the pizza and opted for spaghetti, which was good! I had a side salad and then a small pizza! Perfect and filling! Definitely going to come back here!
After lunch I took the girls to their favorite store…. which i’m almost sure every girl will agree that this is also their favorite store and that is… *drum roll please* JUSTICE! The most EXPENSIVE kid store there is! They each got a little toy from there and left happy.
After our little shopping excursion, we went to have desserts at Suzuya Patisserie. Such a cute little place to have some coffee and eats desserts. We had their Tokyo cheesecake and cream puffs. So good. My daughter especially loved it!
We ended our day with some play time at LOL Kids Club. My kids can seriously spend hours upon hours here. I like coming here when I have work that needs to be done and don’t need a lot of distraction. It’s a win win situation.
They also offer lots of food here in case you get hungry and if you need to you can always leave and come back.
DATE NIGHT!
These date nights that my husband and I have are very special to us. It’s the time we get to have together and reconnect….
We decided to go see a Cirque Du Soleil show this time, and went to see KA. If you want a really good Cirque Du Soleil show to watch, you need to watch this one. Their venue is absolutely beautiful, and the show was spectacular. Highly recommend!
After the show, we had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Bahama Breeze. I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about this restaurant in many other blogs, but that’s because it’s that good!
New breakfast spot
I love to try new breakfast spots here in Las Vegas. My husband and I went to Dirty Fork, which mostly features Hawaiian food (which I love). Definitely would come back here again!
California
*Brace Update*
Not much has really changed between my teeth. My aunt is currently working on my overbite situation, and apparently my tongue keeps pushing my teeth up, which is not correcting my overbite. So, now she added whats called ‘cleats’ onto the back of my top/bottom teeth. I was honestly annoyed because not only do I have braces in front of my teeth, but it feels like I have braces in the back too. Other than that, she did the typical, cleaning, changing the wires, and tightening.
After we left the dentist, my aunt and I decided to explore a new beach, Hermosa Beach. To be completely honest, I was disappointed in this beach. There was not much to do there. They did have a few different restaurants there, but other than that I would say this beach is more of a local beach than a tourist beach. All we did was walk on the boardwalk and walked where the restaurants where, and then left. Yup, left! Told you not much to do there.
I don’t know what it is when coming to California, but my aunt ALWAYS wants to go to Ross. Which meant trouble for me. I am always tempted to buy things, and this time temptation won and I bought a few Fall decorations.
Wet N Wild– Last days….
You read that right. This was Wet ‘N’ Wilds the last days for 2018. The water was freezing; so we didn’t stay until they closed, as we planned too, but as always we had a blast and can’t wait to return back again next year!
XOXO
