Back to our annual camping trip! If you guys have been following me for awhile, know how much I LOVE our camping trips! It’s a time to rejuvenate and escape everything for a few days….
With no reception service out here and the beautiful greenery, these trips are seriously one of my favorites!
So, for those that don’t know, every year right before school starts (1st week of August), the entire family goes on our annual camping trip. We’ve been doing this for about 4 years now, and we it’s now a tradition. I love how the kids love it more and more, and are falling in love with nature, as much as I do!
Since we love Navajo Lake (in Utah) so much, we decided to go back to camp there again. I think next year we are going to try out a new place, but for now, we went back to the place we love!
Day 1 Camping…..
As soon as we got to the campsite, we immediately started to unpack, set up the tent, and everything else. Then it was time to relax…..
One of the best parts of camping are our little traditions that we do… one is making my famous banana boats! Guys, if you camp and haven’t tried banana boats, you are SERIOUSLY missing out!
You can make your banana boat however you like. What I like to do is bring a few options for the kids/adults to make their own unique boat. For example, mine I choose graham crackers, marshmallows, nuts, white chocolate reese’s cups, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup…. OMG SOOO GOOD! So as you can see, I stuffed all the goodness into the banana, and once you do that, take aluminum foil and wrap your banana up. You will want to place it over the campfire to melt all the yumminess, and once it’s nice and hot… enjoy!
Another favorite of mine coming here, is star gazing (when the weather is nice). You can see every star out there. It’s seriously so beautiful. Of course with star gazing, comes scary stories.. told by my nephews! Somehow the scary stories turns into everyone laughing! LOL
Day 2 Camping…..
Today, was ALL ABOUT RELAXING, with the exception of having to go down to the city (Cedar City) to purchase a new air mattress because ours kept deflating all night. But after, we relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful weather all day.
Day 3 Camping….
Waking up early in the morning, having coffee, and a nice breakfast is what it’s all about. I loved how this year all my nephews wanted to cook. They cooked breakfast and dinner (so sweet)! After having breakfast, we took a little adventure to Bryce Canyon. Bryce Canyon is about an hour away from our campsite (not bad at all) and let me just say… it is beautiful there! Post coming all about Bryce Canyon!
After our adventure to Bryce Canyon, we came back and cooked our last camping meal (steak, mexican corn, asparagus, and rice… yess we eat good while we camp), and you know it… we finished off the night with lots of laughter, star gazing, and making smores!
XOXO
