Ok, I’m seriously LMAO.. I thought this whole time when we got the keys last year it was on Dec 21st for some reason, but it was actually on December 19th (WOW CHRISTINE)!
But if you need to play catch up on on all on this series you can choose which part you need to catch up on below.
Well, it’s been a whole year being in our home, and if you’ve followed me on here for awhile or even on my IG you’ve seen all the memories that we’ve created in the Mosley Casa so far! Honestly, it brings me nothing but joy to be able to finally have a space that’s big enough for the whole family, have all the kids run up and down the house, all the laughter, all the backyard movie nights, and now s’more nights!
Being here for a year, I would say much has changed. Bobby and I ventured off in doing our entire backyard ourselves (during a pandemic) which you can read all about it here. We’ve also completed the girls rooms, which i’m seriously obsessed with. You can view Melia’s room here and Avery’s room here.
As far as the rest of our home, we decided to take a pause on designing and buying anything further for the home because of the pandemic until things pick up. Bobby hasn’t been working as much, so our priorities have definitely changed, especially since we just got the house and since I don’t work.
However, we do have many thing on our mind of what we want to do with the Mosley Casa and I think the first thing we will be focusing on will be some new furniture. If you watch my stories you know what I’m talking about and if you don’t.. well we need a new dining set, couch, master bed, and Melia a new bed as well (LOL).
As far as the house itself, we were told that once the house is officially built, it takes about a year for it to settle and things may shift. Well, it definitely did because one of our windows ended up cracking, but because the house is within a full warranty for the 1st year with the builder, it was replaced. Other than that, we do have some cracking in the boards, but that’s all.
We still don’t have any neighbors as of right now, but that will all change within the year, as the 2 spots next to us are available. Not going to lie though, it’s been nice not having any neighbors directly next to us! LOL. Speaking of neighbors, it’s been really nice to have some friends move into the same community as us, and not to mention my oldest sister lives down the street (2 mins away), my middle sister lives 5 minutes away, and my closest cousin lives 8 minutes away! Ya’ll know me, i’m super super close with my family, so it’s honestly been so much fun with all of us living near each other!
Other than that, it’s been truly an amazing experience being in our home, which i’m so in love with. I love the openness, how airy it feels in the home (that’s because of all the windows), our backyard space, and the kitchen which I spent a lot of time in!
I hope that this series helps and encourages you to push yourself to conquer those goals. Don’t give up even when you think it might not work. One thing I learned throughout this whole process is self doubt can be a real bitch and make you want to give up, but push yourself and keep telling yourself that you can do it…. even if you can’t picture it!
XO
