So I did it, I bought my first pair of magnetic lashes….. Now, it appears that magnetic lashes have a bad rep. But, I put them to the test + I must say…. I LOVE THEM
I purchased my first pair of magnetic lashes and as I mentioned…. I’M OBSESSED! I love them for an everyday wear. They are SOO easy to apply once you get the hang of it. So, don’t get frustrated if you can’t get it down on the first try or two. It’s just like using false lashes with adhesive glue, it takes a couple tries for you to get the hang of it, right? Well, the same thing applies to magnetic lashes.
I’m going to be honest when I first bought the lashes, easy for me to apply the lashes WHEN I USED THE WAND that it came with. I tried applying them with just my fingers… NOPE, then with tweezers…NOPE! It would only apply easily with the magnetic wand that some come with. So I highly recommend you purchasing the pack with the “bonus” wand. FYI- not all magnetic lash packs come with the wand.
The only issue I had was that the lashes were a bit long, so it would poke at me until I finally cut the first magnetic strip lash. You can also buy ACCENT 001 magnetic lashes that are already pre-cut with only 3 magnets instead of 4. You can see below down on my step by step process of what I’m actually talking about.
So to anyone that has been iffy or wanting to try them out, I say YES… DO IT! What I loved most was the convenience and that I’m putting less chemicals on my body. Also, when I’m ready to take them off for the day (which BTW they don’t fly off if it’s windy or just slide off or anything.. the magnets are pretty legit), I pull them right off and it DOES NOT pull any of my natural lashes out.. unlike the adhesive glue. 1 pair also lasted about 2 1/2 weeks for me as well.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love using regular false lashes, but for a more everyday, easy on the go, non harmful look… I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS!
Check out my step by step process of how I applied the lashes! I’ll soon make a Youtube video, to show you how it’s done too!
Step 1
I prefer to cut the outer corner of the last (1 magnet) for more of a natural look. I don’t normally like false lashes to go all the way into the corner of my eyes, so I like to cut it. I also found it a tad easier to apply the lashes when doing this as well. So, if you’re going to cut the lashes, cut it before the 3rd magnet. See 2nd pic for reference. You’ll actually notice on the left pair I cut it incorrectly. I accidentally cut the inner corner instead of the outer corner, but it’s not a big deal. I steal used + rocked it!
Step 2
Curl + apply mascara to your upper lashes. You can apply however many coats you prefer, but I normally do 1 coat.
Step 3
Apply the upper lash to the upper part of the magnetic wand + do the same for the bottom. Just remember which is which. Also, make sure the lashes are aligned with one another. Magnet to magnet so an easier application. If you don’t have the wand, I would recommend applying the top lash first and WITHOUT looking down (so the upper lash doesn’t fall out of place or down) grab the bottom lash and look closely at the mirror to line the bottom to the upper lash. This will take a couple of tries, but you will eventually get the hang of it… I promise!
Step 4
Look straight into the mirror and apply your natural lashes in between the wand.
Step 5
Still looking straight clamp the wand down so the magnets can connect with each other.
Step 6
WAHLA! You did one eye + look at that difference! Now repeat steps 1 – 5 for your other eye.
Step 7
You now have beautiful, easy applied magnetic lashes on! As I said, you might not get it on the first try, but keep trying. It took me about 3 tries to get it down, but I did find that the wand helped tremendously!
Here are a couple views of me looking up + down to see if you can see the magnets. I honestly cannot see them, and when asking my husband he says he doesn’t notice them either. WIN WIN!
XOXO
