When it comes to protein shakes, I’m pretty darn picky. I’ve tried SO many different protein powders and just didn’t work for me. It was either way too sweet or way too chalky! It wasn’t until I tried out Alani Nu Whey Protein Powders, and OMG life changer! It’s by far my favorite protein powder. The taste is on point and not too sweet and the most important part, it doesn’t have that chalky after taste.
The 2 flavors that I bought and love are the fruity cereal, which yes taste just like Fruity Pebbles and is definitely my top favorite, and then Confetti Cake, which is also very good!
I love how these protein powders have 23g of protein, which is great for a meal replacement. I also love how it’s low in carbs (2g per serving) and 1g of sugar… YES!
So, when it comes to making my protein shakes, it really depends on how I feel. Sometimes, I make it just by adding almond milk, a little water, and the protein powder and other times I like to add frozen fruit (strawberries, blueberries, mangoes, or cherries) or even add a handful of spinach. However, I have been skipping out on spinach lately, because whenever I make my smoothies and add spinach, I start to get stomach pains. So apparently, spinach has so much fiber that my body can’t fully absorb, which can cause a ‘side effect’… crazy huh! Who would of thought that eating a green healthy vegetable can give you side effects. So lately, I’ve just been having my protein shakes with just the powder and almond milk….
Alright, now let’s make one, and this time we are adding some fruit to it!
Ingredients
- Alani Nu Whey Protein Powder (1/2-1 scoop.. however much you prefer)
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk or whichever other type of liquid you like
- 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/4 cup frozen cherries
Blend in a blender and enjoy!
