December is my most favorite month of all. Not because of the presents, but because of all the traditions my husband and I do with our kids, all the holiday parties, and most importantly spending time with the family.
We started off December with Melia + Avery’s Christmas sports performances.
Jingle Bell Rock
Christmas on Ice
Santa Train
One thing we do every December before Christmas is going on the Santa Train in Boulder City, NV. The train ride is about 40 minutes and they have Santa on bored that takes pictures with all of the kids on board. They also have smaller train ride that are free that we are able to go on. It’s always such a fun time!
Ethel M Chocolate Factory + Cactus Garden
Another MUST that we do every year, is visit Ethel M Chocolate Factory. We do the free little chocolate tour and get our delicious samples and then take a peep at the chocolate store. Their hot chocolate is amazing and rich!
After touring the chocolate factory, we love walking through the cactus garden, where they light up all the cactuses and add lots of blow up animations!
Christmas Pageant at School
Every year, the girls school has a Christmas pageant, where each class sings Christmas songs. It’s such a cute event!
Christmas Art + Crafts
Before Christmas, I always love having the girls do some type of arts + crafts that is related to Christmas. This year their ‘elf’ brought them little ceramic ornaments for them to paint. They loved it!
The girls sure did have a blast at their school Christmas parties
Nephew’s 2nd Birthday Party at Kangaroo Indoor Playground
I can’t believe my nephew is already 2. My oh my does time fly by. We celebrated his 2nd birthday at an indoor playground, and my oh my did the kids have a blast!
I can’t get over how adorable his birthday theme was!! Modern cactus theme, that is!
Christmas Eve
Unfortunately, right after my nephews birthday, I ended up getting sick really bad which also led into Christmas eve, so a lot of the things we had planned that led into Christmas Eve, did not get get. But, we ended going to my parent’s house for Christmas Eve, as we do every year.
We have a late dinner, and fill our tummies with so much food.
We then attend midnight mass with all of the family…
And then come back to my parents house + have all the kids open the presents
Christmas Day
Merrrrrry Christmas!!! Since we live in Las Vegas, it doesn’t ever really feel like Christmas, but this year it sure did. We woke up with rainy cold weather, which made it feel more like Christmas! The kids woke up and we all opened Christmas presents.
Then I cook a HUGE Christmas morning breakfast; that ends up being our lunch and dinner too!
We typically stay at home all day on Christmas, but we ended up going back to my parents house for left over dinner that night.
Then we came home and continued our Christmas traditions… our hot coco bar!
We had yummy treats and hot coco all while watching our favorite Christmas movie… How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
New Years Eve
As far as New Years, we had plans to spend time and have dinner at my Aunts house, as we do every year, but since Melia has been sick for the past week; I didn’t want to chance it, so we stayed home & celebrated with pizza instead!
Happy New Years everyone! I hope all of your New Years Resolutions become true throughout the year, and I hope you have a blessed year!
XOXO
