Well this time has come… AGAIN. With my mother in law having a really bad stroke last month, it has hit my husband and I really hard, and It’s time to make a change. You might be thinking what type of change…. that is our health.
Starting today, my husband and I are making health changes. We’ve been down this road time and time again with trying to be healthy and losing weight, but it’s time to get real serious. This time we are doing a different approach to it.
I have decided to take on 4 goals for this month, and adding new goals each month after. The first goal will be our water intake goal, second goal is our exercise goal, third a health goal, and fourth will be our overall goal. So here is our plan;
Water: My husband (Robert) and I have both committed to drinking 100oz of water a day! For my husband this won’t necessarily be a hard thing since he drinks a lot a water at work. However for me, I am not a big water drinker. It’s not that I don’t like it, I just HATE having to pee so much! But hey, I have to get use to that right?
Exercise: As far as exercise, we are both committing to working out at least 4x a week. For the most part, it will just be morning walks in the park because I am still dealing with an injured pinky toe. Once I can start wearing tennis shoes again then I will start with more active exercises. As far as Robert, he loves to bike, so he will be doing that a lot.
Health: Okay, obviously this is the hardest goal, but I’ve decided to make our first goal with cutting out all sodas and juices. My husband is a serious soda drinker. I’ve tried to lean him twards healthier sodas (if that’s even a thing) or soda water, but he just doesn’t like it. So we’ve decided to cut it out completely. Also, when it comes to coffee, I will be substituting my creamer with caramel premier protein instead (if you haven’t tried it.. it’s pretty good).
When it comes to food, we are going to watch what we eat and our portions. We aren’t specifically cutting things out YET this month, but just simply watching what and how much we eat. Next month, will come the cutting certain foods out.
Overall: As far as my overall goal that is to lose 5 pounds for this month. That might not seem like a lot, and that’s probably not even going to make me feel like I lost anything at all, but I want to take it slow, and do something that will stick long term. Robert’s overall goal for this month is to lose 7 pounds.
I have my calendar and I’m ready to mark off those daily goals! This is something that I will update you all on every month along with our new goals. We know this is going to be a challenge for us, especially with the holidays approaching, but it’s something that we are both committed on doing.
If any of you have goals or do something similar or have an suggestions let me know in the comments below. I would love to read your thoughts, ideas, or goals.
