Alright ya’ll I am pleased + happy to say that I am down 8 pounds this month!!!! Reveal of how much I lost this month is down below.
Now, I wanted to talk about something before I go into more of how this month went for me. There are MANY people that have their opinions about this lifestyle, but just like ALL other diets, opinions are talked about on those too. Keto might not be for some people, and keto for others (including myself) have been LIFE CHANGING! Do your research. Know what you are getting your self into BEFORE ANY DIET. People will ALWAYS have opinion no matter what you do, but as long as you’ve done the research + know what you are getting yourself into, and doing it properly, and all will work out!
OK, now that I got that out of the way, back to my progress update….
This month has been awesome. My husband and I have been enjoying all the new keto foods that we’ve been trying and I honestly still have not ever tried something that I did not like!
Cheat day
As you may know, my husband and I choose to do 1 cheat a month. We choose this day very carefully (hahaha). On Oct 13th (the day after our 1 month ketoversary) is my husband and I’s anniversary, which is the day we choose to have our cheat day. That day also happened to be my nephew’s birthday party.
As far as what I had, I had filipino food, and just like any other diet; when you eat healthy and then re-introduce certain (bad) foods back into your diet, you start to feel sick. That’s exactly what happened to me, and it was all within 5 minutes. I felt very nauseous and couldn’t really enjoy it (which I guess is a good thing), but still ate.
Other than feeling nauseous when eating, I felt really sluggish and extremely tired!
Later came our anniversary dinner. Robert and I had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Hells Kitchen.
I indulged in their delicious foods, and enjoyed every bite. It was so worth the feeling like crap afterwards!! Hahaha!
Next Day….
The next day, Robert and I immediately went back to our keto lifestyle. We really felt like crap on our cheat day and wanted to feel good again. I really thought the next day, that I would be in the bathroom all day (sorry if that was TMI), but honestly I didn’t feel like crap at all…. other than being tired.
So because of the carbs and sugar in my system, when I went back to eating keto foods it did take me longer to get back into ketosis (almost a week). I also did gain 3 pounds because of it. I know a lot may have been water weight, but still, it was 3 pounds I needed to lose!!
Weigh In
Alright ya’ll, so this month I have lost a total of 8.0 pounds and a total of 30.2 since I started back in 9/1/18!!! Starting weight was 300.2 and now weight 270.2!!
Exercise
I’m going to be totally honest, I have NOT worked out since starting this keto lifestyle. I know I know…. but my goal for month 3 is to work out at least 4x/w (even if that means just walking the park for an hour).
Current Fave KETO Foods
Keep in mind I do intermittent fast so when it comes time to eat, I sometimes do eat breakfast for lunch.
Breakfast | Every since discovering 90 second keto bread, it’s been a life changer for my breakfast meals. I’ve been obsessing over the McGriddle or Sausage egg McMuffin (it seriously taste like McDonald’s).
KETO BREAD:
- 1 TBSP of butter
- 2 TBSP of almond flour
- 1 TSP of baking powder
- 1 Egg
- Non stick cooking spray to coat mug
Melt butter in microwave for 15-20 seconds. Once melted, mix all ingredients together. Spray cooking spray into your mug so the bread doesn’t stick. Add mixture into microwavable mug and microwave for 90 seconds. After the bread is cooked, let cool for 1 minute.
I sliced the bread down the middle and then crisp it on a non stick pan with 1 tsp of butter. If your making the McMuffin or McGriddle just cook an egg to your liking, microwave or seared a fully cooked pork sausage and melt american cheese on top of it. Stack it just like a sandwich and add sugar free syrup if you want it like a McGriddle. It’s soooo delicious!!!!
Lunch | I love myself a typical chicken salad.
I also like making these low carb pizzas! Delicious!
Dinner | I love myself a delicious seared or grilled steak with a side of veggies!
Goals For Month 3
I have 3 goals for this new month. My first goal will be to start incorporating working out at least 4 times a week. My second goal is to drink 100 oz of water. I’ve been really bad on my water intake! Lastly, is to take my vitamins on a DAILY basis (another thing I’m bad at).
I can’t wait to see what this month brings. It will be a challenge knowing that Thanksgiving is coming, and I’m not eating keto on that day! That is considered our cheat for the month!
